Beta Notice: SMAQd is currently in beta. Features, data handling, and these terms may change as the product evolves. We'll notify users of material changes by email.

1. Information We Collect

When you create a SMAQd account, we collect your email address, display name, username, and optional profile information (bio, location, avatar). We collect social links you choose to share and track aggregate click counts.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the SMAQd platform
To enable connections and networking between users
To display your public profile to other users
To send transactional emails (verification, password reset)
To improve the platform through anonymized analytics (with your consent)

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate SMAQd (Supabase for data storage, Vercel for hosting, Resend for email delivery).

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are only used with your explicit consent. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time.

5. Your Rights

Under CCPA and GDPR, you have the right to:

Access: View all data we store about you
Export: Download your data in JSON format
Delete: Permanently delete your account and all data
Opt-out: Decline analytics tracking via cookie settings

You can exercise these rights from your Account Settings page.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), Row Level Security on all database tables, input validation, and XSS prevention. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt.
